Psychological assessments that bring clarity
When something doesn’t quite make sense — your child’s learning, behaviour, emotions, or your own focus and functioning — an assessment can help bring things into focus.
At Zen Society, we offer evidence-based psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. These assessments are designed to help you better understand what’s going on and guide next steps in a clear, supportive way.

You might be here because:
- your child is struggling at school or emotionally and you’re not sure why
- teachers or a GP have suggested an assessment
- attention, learning, behaviour, or emotional regulation feel harder than expected
- you’re wondering about ADHD or autism
- things have been difficult for a long time and you want clearer answers
Many families come to us after trying different strategies without lasting change. Wanting clarity doesn’t mean something is “wrong” — it means you’re looking for understanding.

What is a psychological assessment?
A psychological assessment is a structured process that helps build a clearer picture of how someone thinks, learns, feels, and copes.
Depending on the type of assessment, this may include:
- interviews with the individual and/or parent
- questionnaires
- standardised assessment tools
- review of relevant background information
The goal is not to label for the sake of it, but to understand strengths, challenges, and what support may be helpful moving forward.

What to expect from the process
We aim to make the assessment process as clear and supportive as possible.
Initial appointment
We take time to understand concerns, history, and current challenges.
Assessment sessions
Assessment tools are selected based on individual needs and referral questions.
Feedback and reporting
Findings are explained in plain language, with a written report provided where applicable.
Next steps
We discuss practical recommendations and support options, which may include therapy, school guidance, or further referrals if needed.
A supportive, evidence based approach
We understand that assessments can feel daunting — especially for parents. Our approach is warm, respectful, and grounded in evidence-based practice. We take care to explain the process clearly and answer questions along the way.
You don’t need to know exactly what assessment you need before getting in touch. We can help you work that out together.
