Meet Kyla

Kyla Turner
Provisional PsychologistKyla is a Provisional Psychologist dedicated to providing compassionate, collaborative, safe, and evidence-informed psychological support. She is currently completing her fifth year of professional psychology training through a Master of Professional Psychology.
Kyla has extensive experience providing counselling and casework to children, adolescents, and families across mental health, school, community, and out-of-home care settings. Through this work, she has supported individuals and families experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, emotional and behavioural difficulties, neurodevelopmental—including autism, ADHD, and specific learning disorders—differences, family challenges, complex and intergenerational trauma and other adverse life experiences.
Kyla draws primarily upon CBT and DBT-informed strategies, incorporating trauma-informed, culturally responsive, strengths-based, and person-centred approaches. She understands that every person brings their own experiences, needs, and strengths to therapy and therefore aims to tailor support to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
With a warm, genuine, and non-judgemental manner, Kyla prioritises creating a therapeutic environment in which clients feel safe, understood, and respected. She works alongside clients to develop greater insight, strengthen practical coping skills, and create meaningful and sustainable change.
